To support our Brussels Sales office, we are looking for a :

Sales Manager Belgium and Luxembourg

Reporting to the Sales Manager for Benelux region, you will be responsible for diverse Sales activities in Belgium and Luxembourg for the whole Itron portfolio.

To maintain a close relationship with local Utilities, agents and distributors, extensive travel is expected throughout the region (>50%).
Your first challenge will be to learn all about our technological solutions and to customize appropriate offers for each customer’s need, from products (meters) to global solutions (communication modules, services…), with the support from our Technical Teams.

You will both develop new contracts with existing customers and search for new business opportunities with a focus on the development of our Smart Solutions.

Your main responsibilities are the following:

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with customers, as well as agents & distributors,
  • Reaching the targets and goals set for your area,
  • Maintaining and consolidating the existing customers portfolio,
  • Understanding customers’ needs, and designing solutions with our technologies and services,
  • Preparing quotations, technical proposals, tender responses, presentations, etc.
  • Negotiating and closing sales / tenders, and after-sales support services / follow up,
  • Increasing business opportunities through various routes to market,
  • Providing market reports and presentations to Itron Management team,
  • Marketing, such as attending conferences, publishing technical papers and case studies, etc.
  • Keeping up to date with products and competitors.

Preferred skills and experience:
  • Engineering degree in Electronics / IT / Telecom.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in selling to governments and municipal markets, with proven track record of exceeding established sales quotas.
  • Trained and proficient in Solution Selling methodology.
  • Good knowledge of Utilities / Metering industry will be a valuable asset.
  • Fluent Dutch, French, English skills are a must.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentations).
  • Strong adaptability to work with any kind of stakeholders in an international environment.
  • Outstanding ability to convince others and to maintain effective business network.
  • Capacity to manage workload effectively & with limited supervision.
